All-on-4 Implant Teeth in Elk Grove & Lodi

Are you missing all the teeth in your upper or lower arch but worry that removable dentures won't provide the stability you want? Do you currently wear dentures that no longer fit well or shift and move unpredictably?

At Oak Tree Dentistry, Dr. Pritpal Gill offers All-on-4® dentures, which allow him to use as few as 4–6 dental implants to secure a full upper or lower denture. You may also hear this type of denture referred to as teeth-in-a-Day. We can often provide a temporary denture on the same day as your implant surgery.

Why Choose All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a state-of-the-art tooth replacement system that restores bite force, bite function, and smile beauty while protecting jawbone health. No other option offers the unique benefits you'll discover with dental implants and All-on-4.

Restored Bite Force

With All-on-4, you can enjoy your favorite foods again without worry. Implant dentures never shift, rock, or slip!

Natural-Looking Finish

When you smile, all your friends and family will see is a beautiful, symmetrical smile. No one will guess you've had work done.

Jawbone Support

Bone loss occurs naturally when teeth are missing. Implants help keep the jawbone healthy and viable.

Benefits of All-on-4 Implant Teeth

Dental implants are the standard for tooth replacement because they look, feel, and function like real teeth. However, it would be a complex and costly process to replace an entire arch of teeth with implants!

All-on-4 or All-on-6 dentures at our Elk Grove and Lodi dental offices solve the age-old problem of removable dentures that slip and shift unpredictably. Dentures supported by dental implants allow you to laugh, speak, chew, and smile confidently, knowing that your teeth will always stay securely in place.

In addition to being a stable and dependable tooth replacement, All-on-4 dentures offer several benefits:

  • Fewer implants
  • Faster healing times
  • Same-day results
  • Cost-effective
  • Reduced need for bone grafting

What Are All-on-4 Dentures?

All-on-4 uses four or more dental implants to anchor a fixed denture in place. To qualify for all-on-4 dentures, you must have adequate bone (either naturally or with bone grafting) to support the denture and the load from chewing.

At Oak Tree Dentistry, we collect your medical history and perform a comprehensive dental exam to ensure your treatment will be as successful as possible. This includes dental x-rays, an oral exam, and checking your medications to rule out complications.

Many people find all-on-4 a cost-friendly solution that helps them have dietary freedom and confidence in their smiles.

How All-on-4 in Lodi and Elk Grove Works

After your initial assessment with the dentist—if it’s determined you’re a candidate for All-on-4—we arrange your implant surgery.

Using powerful anesthesia, your dentist numbs the jaw area and gently places your dental implant posts. After an integration period of a few months, we secure your custom denture or low-profile arches. These restoring arches of new teeth are customized to complement your smile.

After we place your arch, there is nothing more to do! You can eat your meals and smile with confidence. However, it’s still vital to see your dentist every six months for checkups. We want to ensure your gums remain healthy to support your new smile.

Imagine enjoying all the foods you used to love. Imagine munching on carrot sticks and celery for a healthy snack.

Eating Healthy Foods with All-on-4®

The foods you eat contribute to your oral and physical health. For this reason, we encourage our patients to choose dental implants when replacing missing teeth. Implants are like starting over with an intact bite force and a level chewing field.

We’re pleased to offer three levels of dental sedation in Lodi and Elk Grove to meet your needs.

Types of Sedation Dentistry We Offer

Our team monitors you closely during dental sedation, and we take a health history to ensure your candidacy.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a safe gas administered through a nasal cannula during your procedure. You feel detached and melancholy with nitrous, but you’re still aware. This sedation method means you’ll feel less anxious during your procedure, but there are no lingering effects. You can drive yourself home or back to work.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a pill given before treatment. With this sedation method, you’ll feel completely relaxed and may not recall the finer details of your treatment. You’ll need a friend or loved one to drive you. We also recommend resting for the day and not making any life-altering decisions.

IV Sedation

As with oral sedation, you should have transportation and rest for the remainder of the day following your procedure. IV sedation is delivered directly into the bloodstream. You’ll be minimally conscious but mostly unaware of what’s happening. It’s doubtful you’ll remember your procedure.

The Process for Getting All-on-4 Implant Teeth

Getting All-on-4 implant dentures involves several steps, but the process is not as complex as you might think!

All-on-4 Dentures Consultation

Dr. Gill will determine if you are a good candidate by taking digital dental x-rays and a 3-D cone beam scan (CBCT) to check that the jaw bone is strong enough to support the implants. He will also evaluate your dental bite and the shape and size of your teeth to prepare custom dentures that look natural and fit comfortably.

He will also review your medical history, medications, and current health problems. If you are a good candidate, the next step is to schedule you for implant surgery at one of our comfortable dental offices in Elk Grove or Lodi, CA.

Dental Implant Surgery

When the day of your implant surgery arrives, you may be a little nervous, but you couldn't be in better hands! Dr. Gill is an experienced dentist with expertise in implant dentistry, and his goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and at ease. He will gladly answer your questions, so you know what to expect during the procedure.

First, we numb your mouth so you won't feel any pain during surgery. Many patients prefer to relax with nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, or IV sedation, and we will be happy to tailor a solution just for your needs.

Dr. Gill starts by removing any remaining teeth. He uses the information from your 3-D cone beam scan to place 4–6 implants near the front of your mouth where the bone is the strongest. Two of the implants are placed at an angle, which provides more contact with the bone and promotes faster healing.

Attaching Temporary Dentures

Next, Dr. Gill attaches connectors to the implants to secure temporary dentures. You will wear the temporaries while the implants heal and integrate with bone and tissue, which can take several months.

Implant Healing and Customizing Your Dentures

After your implants heal, we will customize the final set of dentures to complement your smile and attach them to the implants in your jaw. Only Dr. Gill can remove these dentures so they will feel natural, and you can be confident that they won't shift or move unexpectedly.
