Getting All-on-4 implant dentures involves several steps, but the process is not as complex as you might think!
All-on-4 Dentures Consultation
Dr. Gill will determine if you are a good candidate by taking digital dental x-rays and a 3-D cone beam scan (CBCT) to check that the jaw bone is strong enough to support the implants. He will also evaluate your dental bite and the shape and size of your teeth to prepare custom dentures that look natural and fit comfortably.
He will also review your medical history, medications, and current health problems. If you are a good candidate, the next step is to schedule you for implant surgery at one of our comfortable dental offices in Elk Grove or Lodi, CA.
Dental Implant Surgery
When the day of your implant surgery arrives, you may be a little nervous, but you couldn't be in better hands! Dr. Gill is an experienced dentist with expertise in implant dentistry, and his goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and at ease. He will gladly answer your questions, so you know what to expect during the procedure.
First, we numb your mouth so you won't feel any pain during surgery. Many patients prefer to relax with nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, or IV sedation, and we will be happy to tailor a solution just for your needs.
Dr. Gill starts by removing any remaining teeth. He uses the information from your 3-D cone beam scan to place 4–6 implants near the front of your mouth where the bone is the strongest. Two of the implants are placed at an angle, which provides more contact with the bone and promotes faster healing.
Attaching Temporary Dentures
Next, Dr. Gill attaches connectors to the implants to secure temporary dentures. You will wear the temporaries while the implants heal and integrate with bone and tissue, which can take several months.
Implant Healing and Customizing Your Dentures
After your implants heal, we will customize the final set of dentures to complement your smile and attach them to the implants in your jaw. Only Dr. Gill can remove these dentures so they will feel natural, and you can be confident that they won't shift or move unexpectedly.
